Hybrid SUVS - Is this the answer to our oil dependence problems?

So what is the answer? In this blog on Wired, John Gartner debates whether hybrids could save SUVS. In some ways, I think investing hybrid technology in SUVs would be a blessing, but I believe this would also continue to drive America's need for these beastly vehicles.

When I compare a Ford Excursion to a Toyota Prius, the South Park episode of everyone driving hybrid vehicles comes to mind. Smugness all the way!
